We have received the fabric from Llynfi Textiles which is woven organic Welsh wool…yummy….

Time to get felt-making, pattern sorting, embroidery designing… not got long until the competition deadline…

I’ll keep you posted on our progress. It is our intention to provide a workshop for you guys to make a shirt like this once we have gone through the process of designing, making etc. We will take all the hard work out of it for you…that’s the idea anyway!

It seems that I have managed to get involved in the ‘wool thing’ again and its great to be back…. Working on the TTP  project we ran a couple of seminars on wool and we knew we needed to ‘do something’ (a follow on project) to keep the momentum going. BUT, the wool industry is so diverse and in Wales (as in any industry) there are so many different sides to it… farmers, scourers, carders, spinners, dyers, knitters, weavers, felt makers etc etc. So how do we ‘bring it all together’?

Collaboration…. that’s the way forward. Working with designers, Mills, spinners, dyers, Government bodies, Sector Skills Councils, Universities and Colleges… thats how it can be done… ha ha thats what I’m hoping for anyway!!
